Hi,
I have a broody hen who I’ve just set some eggs under, but this morning I noticed that she was scratching quite a lot at her eyes when I put her in the run. I looked closer and her eyes had sort of bubbles/foam in them.
She doesn’t seem to be scratching whilst on the nest, and she doesn’t look ill apart from that.
As far as food and water goes, she takes mealworms but not so much interest in her normal food, as well as not seeming too interested in water, but I was using a different water container that she hadn’t seen before.

Any ideas on what it could be?
Thank you very much!

What are you using for bedding in the nest?
A picture of the hen, nest and coop would be helpfull.
Given you are in the UK where Mycoplasama is common I would consider that as a possible cause.
Check the rest of your chickens for similar presentations.

The nest bedding is like a short straw material. She looks like she has also scratched to point of bleeding on one side, though not badly.

There are obviously no bubbles in the photo, and I haven’t seen them since, but that doesn’t mean they haven’t been there.
