I have 2 hens that may have been broody for a week or 2. I mail ordered some eggs to get silver laced polish. I was going to incubate them in the incubator but wouldn't it be so much better to place them under the hens. Since they have been broody for a little while now is this a bad idea? i don't want them to give up since they have already been trying with the typical eggs being removed. Both hens are silkies.

Awesome! Yes, I would TOTALLY put them under them! I would maybe divide the eggs in half and put them under the hens. Mother hens take care of EVERYTHING, and you don't have to worry about incubating them, or giving them a brooder box! You're so lucky to have 2 broody hens! :yesss: They should still sit until the eggs hatch, I've seen some people chickens sit for months! I just love silver laced pullets too!:love

Good luck!:thumbsup

Thanks!!! I was planning on dividing them. I just keep reading online they may give up trying after 21 days.
