How long does a broody hen usually care for her chicks? My last one started chasing and pecking her chicks at 4 weeks?
 
It is different with each broody hen. Some will take care of their babies until they are half the size of a full grown chicken!! And others will abandon them at 3-5 weeks old. It is just different.
What breeds are broody?
