I have a hatchery Jersey giant that seems to me to be broody. It started Sunday- she'd been in the coop most of the day and finally I was concerned and went to move her. She didn't want to go and she was sitting on two eggs- one of hers and an EE. After that she went outside and I collected the eggs, she seemed fine eating and drinking. I did notice she seemed timid around the other birds. The next morning she was back in the box but got out when I yelled her name. Thought that might be the end of it, but this morning she was back in and wouldn't get out until I picked her off of her chosen spot (no eggs anymore). At first i tried nudging her with the handle of a rake, (Gently of course, since our coop is hard to climb into) she just snapped at it. She seems to have slipped back into the coop again. I'm just wondering if that sounds like typical broody behaviour? She seems fine to me other than being timid around the other birds, I noticed some of them being aggressive to her and am not true what that's about.
