I have an australorp that went broody about a week ago. We thought we lost her to a fox but found her yesterday sitting on eggs under a piece of farm equipment. Is there a safe way to move her and the eggs to a safe spot?

you could try making a pen for her inside the coop and try to mover her (but it doesnt always work unless the chicken is really wanting to sit on eggs) or putting a pen around her that will keep the wild animals away from her.
if you go with the first one... the best way to do it is put her in a nesting box you may have and use chicken wire to cover the exit untill she is settled down again on her eggs and it also keeps the other chickens from bothering her... if you move her make sure you put her in there then put her eggs in cause her seeing her aggs may make her want to keep sitting.

When our auracana went broody, we left her where she was. One day she was up at the coop with 1 chick. We made a pen for her and the chick. It's about a 5 x 5 pen with lots of headroom and since the chick is full grown now it is empty. She has been coming our in the mornings for food. The pen we made has room for food and water and such, but doesn't allow for a lot of running around. I was thinking about moving her in there with her eggs, trying to scoop the eggs up all at once along with some of the hay nest she layed them in. I would love to have them hatch as it was fun to watch our other one.
