I've got two broody silkies in their own individual broody hutches. The temperatures are supposed to get down to the mid-20's tonight. Should I move the hutches into the garage tonight? I'm worried that since they don't have their usual silkie-pile to stay warm, they might get cold. Am I overreacting?

I was dealing with the same issue. I chose to put my Broody in the garage. I'm glad I did because the temp went down to 13 degrees as she was beginning to hatch!
Being in Texas though, I'm not sure if you need to put them in the garage. Isn't this a fluke -- temp wise? Maybe just add more hay and cover your hutches for extra insulation?

We put them in the garage. Yes, yes, I know, they're spoiled. They're in there tonight too, because it was a little chilly today. That was DH's idea, but he doesn't like chickens.
