So....I first started off here about 5 years ago back in 2020 with not even a dozen hens and a beginners knowledge of the basic chicken.
It was forums like this one that I was able to weed out all the tasty tidbits of information and knowledge that soon had me and my flock running smoothly.

But as we all know, chicken math is all but inevitable and we soon expanded into ducks. One coop became two, 12 hens became 20, then 50 then it ungracefully slipped over the 100 mark.

Then there were rabbits, we soon had outside hutches with 4, I'm now in the process of building a double decker hutch and pen for meat rabbits. And the insanity continued....

My son said awww.... look at the cute little turkeys, we can breed them and raise them to. So, 14 turkeys later and yet another coop built, this one supersized and with a second floor. And oh boy, they are about the funniest things to have around when you hand raise them. You talk to them, they talk back, follow me and my son everywhere! They are like big fluffy dogs, and they will play with you as well, it's the funniest thing. Oh, and we do get turkey eggs from the females almost everyday, and the shells are super hard.

But wait! There's more! Of course my kids said, hey dad, let's get bantems! So now we got silkies and Japanese silver bantems. Now, i didn't know that Japanese bantems get super broody. So i had let her stay on her clutch of eggs hoping she was gotten by the silky rooster or the Japanese. We got 12 more Japanese bantems yesterday. She is a super good mom and she is one of the few chickens that the turkeys let in their pen, i was worried at first, all the turkeys came to look at them but didn't touch them. They just accepted them into the flock. The mom only let's me and my son near enough to make sure everything is good.

So thanks to everyone here, I know I haven't posted a lot but I've kept a eye on stuff. We just might have some extra eggs if yall need some. 😆

Haha, my wife did ask about pheasant once or twice so it's not out of the realm of possibility. We would love to get a couple milk goats though but finding them has been about impossible.

your coops are so cool! the grey shed that you are using as a coop... is ventilation an issue? we have the same shed and I was wanting to turn it into a chicken coop in the future but that was my only concern.

Yes, ventilation in summer can be warm, I removed the plastic windows and covered it with 1/2" wire mesh, I have 4 roosts on the inside as well using removable studs for easy cleaning. I have found using a base of sand then a top coat of wood chips lasts a really long time with high odor control. Our coops do not smell like chickens 😆.
