broody hens and roll-out nest boxes

Some hens will go broody whether or not there are eggs under them. I don't know if you like or dislike broodies, but I would buy breeds with the level of broodiness you want regardless of your nestboxes.

I don't necessarily like or dislike any of them. I just don't feel like fishing for eggs under a hen. But with roll-out boxes I worried that if they went broody they would obsess over where the heck their egg disappeared to. Or maybe they wouldn't care unless they saw a nest full of eggs.

eta: we don't plan to have any roosters this time around so there won't be any chicks no matter how determined a broody might get.

I don't have experience with this, but my guess would be a broody would be fine with the eggs all rolled away. As long as they rolled away before and didn't just roll out from under her.
