I think DE might or might not act as a preventative but I absolutely would not rely in it to treat an infestation. You have chickens dying, don't mess around.

yes thanks for responding, I picked up some today at co-op and cleaned out thorally then dusted every thing including chickens, and I also picked up some DE but not sure how to use it .. do I put it in the dirt or do I have to buy some sand or what?
