I have a trio of Welsummers. One hen went broody, so I decided to let her hatch a few babies. She killed them all as they hatched, then continued to be broody. So, I removed her nesting box and changed it with another setup. She became un-broody immediately and started laying again in about a week. Well, a couple weeks later the OTHER hen went broody and stopped laying. Then, a week into that, the first hen went broody AGAIN. I am really getting ticked about feeding chickens and having to BUY eggs! Is there a breed that lays dark eggs and does NOT go broody so easily?
