I've got 2 broody hens. The last time one went broody I just locked her out of the coop during the day and she snapped out of it after a week or so. This time it's winter and cold. Highs are in the upper teens. I feel bad locking the hens out of the coop, but what else can I do?

Hi,

Welcome to BYC! I'm assuming you don't want them to go broody. I would just put a large object in the boxes if I were you.

I did that. They just found a corner and sat there (while getting pooped on from above)

That method isn't very effective for me either.

Here are some more ideas that have worked for others:

^ I've found that the isolation method is the most effective.

If you have the time and materials that's the way to go!
