I have 2 broodies right now sitting on eggs. I currently have 2 chicks in the brooder. Would love to put them under the hens for them to take care of so I can shut the heat lamp off. 1 chick is about 3 weeks old, while the other is about 2 weeks old. Would these chicks be too old to put underneath the hens? Also, because they are currently sitting on eggs, would that be a bad idea to put these chicks under them. I know to put the chicks under them at night if I am going to do it. Suggestions please.

Thanks
Kim

The broody hens would probably leave the nest to care for the young chicks. The chicks may be too old. I've heard of placing day olds under them near or on hatch day for the broody's eggs. I don't think I would do it.
