Since it is getting late in the season (already cold in N. Idaho), I don't want to let my broody hens hatch anymore eggs. Is there any way to break them of their broodiness? I have a banty frizzle and banty ameracauna that have been sitting for a week and won't leave the nesting box unless I remove them and then they just return. anyway. On a side note, I did give the banty frizzle some eggs, due to hatch from yet another broody, and let her sit on them for 4 days til they hatched. At that time she had no interest in "mothering the chicks", so I gave the chicks back to their mama and returned the frizzle to her coop, thinking she would be done with sitting...wrong! Now what do I do? Any suggestions? I seem to have broody hens coming out my ears!!!
