Broody, how many eggs?

I have a first time broody cochin. She's a big girl. How many eggs should I give her to sit on? Also, what's the proper way to collect the eggs until I get a good clutch for her?

I asked the same question a couple of weeks ago and only got one answer. That person said to stuff eggs under her until you start to see them around the edge.

So our orp hen has 17 eggs under her right now. I don't know how the hatch will work but she seems to be keeping them covered well. I'm not sure if that is much help but I think I would just put a bunch under your hen and make sure they all stay covered.

Thank you fo your reply. I want her to hatch out some ee for me but I ony have one ee right now which means an egg a day. Do you know how to collectthe eggs and store them until I get a good collection going?
