How good is the internal clock of a broody hen? Like, if she just started brooding, and she is given eggs due to hatch in a week, will she be cool being a Mom or reject them to keep setting? Or will she not care and accept them?
I've only given chicks to a hen who'd been broody for over a month, and she very happily accepted her new motherly duty. And I'd love for my newest broody to raise a brood, too. The eggs in my incubator aren't too far off from hatching, though. Letting a hen raise a chick or two is the way I 'break' a broody, since I don't want to do any other of the rather cruel methods.

You'll be fine with waiting 3 days and putting chicks under her so it won't matter
