Ok so my one hen went broody last weekend, I gave her a single egg to hatch (because I am starting the incubator tomorrow and thought to give her the hatched chicks. Now she doesn’t know which nest to be in. She sat on the egg until today and I find her tonight in the next nest over. Should I continue to incubate (on and regulated, waiting for tomorrow) at least until day 7 to candle or throw it away. Not sure how long she was off but the egg as cool.

You can give it a try. Worst thing that could happen is it is not viable.

Toss it. Why stagger a hatch for a single egg??

Never thought about that
I think it's the most logical answer, especially since the egg was already cold when you found it and out it into the bator. That's a lot of trouble to go to for a single egg, unless it's a breed you REALLY want or something

I am thinking of giving it back to her toward the end. She is still broody and was a good broody last time. Thinking day 18ish. If it survives, checking in a few more days to see.
