Broody Leghorn Cross ? Update new pics

My 26 wk. old Leghorn/RIR cross went broody about a week ago. I've been taking her eggs away but she is insistant on being a mother.

Her eggs are infertile as she is in the pullet coop (no roo's). I finally broke down and gave her four fertile eggs from my EE which are fertilized by my BO roo. I also put 12 of those same eggs in the bator last week. Lets see who has more % of chicks. LOL. Here is a pic I took of her last wk. She was not happy about being disturbed.

She's all puffed up.

Naturally she took the favorate nest box.

The chicken will have the higher hatch rate.Always do. Have fun with the chicks and be sure to post pics

Update I candled them tonight. Hers are all develping at a faster rate then the ones in the bator. Go figure. She only comes off the nest once a day to eat drink and poo. I plan on moving her and the nest box to a more private area this week. I had 3 out of 12 of the bator eggs that were duds. 2 were infertile and one was a quiter. She's doing better than the bator.

Well here is the final tally for anyone who's intersted. Incubator 5 out of 8.

Not so good. Broody hen 4 out of 4.

I couldn't believe it. She's such a good mommy. Hers hatched today on day on day 20. Incubator hatched day 20 and 21. Here's pics of the Incubator's. Will post pics of hers tomorrow didn't want to bother her to much today.

These pics are from this morning. Chicks are on the ground and Ma Ma is teaching them to ear. Ya Gotta luv it.

Chicks are a cross from my EE hen and BO roo. Some are chipmunk and some are buff.
