Broody mama and new babies....

I have a broody d'uccle bantam that just hatched 3 eggs but she's sitting on more that were put in the nest by others when she would get off to take a break. so i have no idea how old these eggs are. the new chicks are getting rowdy and wanna more around but she's still on the other eggs.

question...How do I handle this? thanks for advice

She should leave the nest by the time the chicks are a couple of days old. If not, I would kick her out and take the eggs. The chicks that have hatched need to eat and drink. You'll either need to incubate the rest yourself or toss them.

They're all different. I had one girl fight off anyone who even looked at her nest and who would sit in any nest as long as there were eggs in it.

yea i'm sure .... i have noticed each chicken has it's own personality and quirks for sure . Such interesting creatures. domesticated since 2000 BC, but i wonder what they were like before then?
