Hill Salt & Rox
In the Brooder
My Americana chicken, Hillary, who was recently broody and not laying eggs, is now not broody and acting almost normal. However, she has been sporting some odd behavior. If another chicken is in one of our three nesting boxes, she will push them out and try to sit in the same nesting box that they are in. She has been stealing eggs from other chickens and sitting on them as well as constantly clucking and making weird noises. If she wasn't laying eggs normally, I would assume she was broody. She has started to teach this behavior to the other chickens and I'm not sure what to do about it. We check on the chickens several times and day and are fairly good about getting the eggs out of the nesting box fast. What should I do?
