What is a good broody chicken other than silkie

I have had many cross breed bantams that made excellent broodys. For a definite breed I found the cochins to be good broodys too.

Buff Orpingtons are supposed to be wonderful broodies. What breed of chickens do you have now?

Cochin bantams go broody a *lot*.
There are a lot of breeds that tend to go broody, mostly when they are over a year or so old. Marans, Sumatras, etc. I would find some breeds I liked for other reasons, then ask if any of them have strong broody tendencies.

My favorelles go broody at least once a year.

Aren't they a rare breed of chicken no too many people have any I would like to own some but the only way I know is through hatchery
