Did your hen ever accept the chick? I have the same problem right now and worried because the chick has a little wound on top of his/her head. I think it was from day 1 when I slipped the chick under her the night before. The chick still goes under for warmth and is not afraid of the hen. I decided to wait a couple more days to see if she accept the chick. If the wound gets worse or has new wounds, I will have to raise a loner if it doesn't die before I get home from work. Actually the hen only has one chick as well. I will feel really bad if it is killed because I could have taken the chick out when I first saw the wound. Hope your chick was accepted made it.
