Broody Pen/Brooder Finished Today

I have to build a broody place fpr broody hen, temp place. I have those plastic cratesa, you are using in your pircture for a nest box, what do oyu suggest for me making one temp for our broody hen, we are building full coop and pen 4 july weekend, but need something until then for brood hen, what would you do, thanks for your help

I'd get a good sized dog crate, wire or plastic, one big enough to put a chick feeder and waterer into and give her room to get off to poop, so she doesn't poop in the actual nest. If you use a wire one, which I have done, just cover the bottom few inches with cardboard so the chicks cant go through the wire.

those qare some good ideas. I will not be having nay chicks from my broody hen, I just want to break her of the broodyness. I have a anaimal cage trap, that is long and high enough for her but a little confined for height but not length for her, so she can eat and drink and move around but a tight squeeze I can do that, or a I do have a dog crate but my chicks are in there and I have to find a place for them, any ideas? Also, can my broody hen only be in the broody cage at night, and just roam the day in my yard, she does not make a nest in the yard only the chicken coop and I block that off in the day. What doyou think?

If you want to break her, then the cage may be a good idea. Usually, if they can feel air underneath them, that is supposed to help. In other words, if they can't get cozy.
