My D'Uccle starting sitting on 7-9 eggs Saturday. I'm going to let her hatch them out. The chicks will be pure bred, I've got 2 D'Uccle hens and one roo and a bunch of pullets of various breeds in there.

The one in the first picture is the one on the eggs.

I thought I'd give an update on my broody. I went out on Saturday and checked her eggs, all but 4 had either been broken and eatten by other chickens or had been cracked. So, I grabbed the last 4 and brought them in. After candling I noticed 3 were clear, so I tossed them out and put the good one in the bator. I'm adding more oyster shells to their diet and will wait untill I get my broody pen all done before I let her sit again.

Oh, I am sorry to hear about your misfortune. Good luck with the one that is left.

I will be excited to see if it hatches. If it does, what will you name it?

Pretty birds you have - I miss my porcelain roo
