If this question has been asked and answer or if it sounds paranoid, I'm really sorry! Today, my broody hen pushed away two eggs. Tonight is chilly at my house and the eggs where cold so I took them inside and candled them. They both were empty is that why she pushed them away? do they know if the eggs have chicks in them? do they feel the pulse? is she going to push them all away?
Thanks!

Thank you so much for the link! It really helped! She has been sitting on them for about 15 days and by empty I mean they look like store bought eggs. They did smell a little off.

Ahh, no blood stripe and a off smell means they are probably duds or unfertilized.

Sorry,

Jim

I candled the rest of the eggs and some are fertile :weee Thank you so much for your help!
