Broody question

My duck went broody, built a nice little nest while we were gone and didn't get her eggs up. She is an Indian runner. She seemed broody, not getting up off her nest. So i ordered some fertilized eggs and we pulled half of hers. She had 8 in her nest. 2 days later our fertilized eggs showed up and we put them under her and took her others. She is still rarely getting up off the nest, but layed an egg last night. There are no other ducks or chickens, so it for sure is hers. Is she technically brooding if she's laying, should i start counting down the 28 days yet to hatching?

How long has she been broody now? Some ducks will continue to lay even after a few days of being on the nest

Probably about a week now.

I think she's broody, I'm sure the egg she layed was probably her last..
Some ducks will still lay even while they're broody..

I was just worried she wouldn't sit on these fertilized eggs long enough.. Or I'd be off on their hatch date..

If she has been sitting a week I'd take that egg she just laid away you don't want her sitting a whole week longer on one egg when she needs to be up and about with her ducklings.
