Broody sat on eggs to day 21. Then she got up with 5 chicks and started killing them. She killed one, injured two that are still hanging on. We removed chicks. She has since started hopping on and off the nest. She's stomped one egg and cracked it. We opened it and it had quit around day 7. Two eggs are wiggling, rocking, seem to be alive. We ran out and bought an incubator because we don't want babies hatching only to be killed by her.
What do I set my innovator incubator at for humidity and temp? I'm totally new at this. I want to save these eggs! I have two little chicks that are perking up but can't walk. One is partially plucked, it has a yellowish goop on it, maybe unabsorbed yolk? It has some of its down ripped out and it's very small and weak. The other one looks perfectly normal, is eating and drinking but can not walk. It's toes are curled. We have offered them medicated chick feed both wet and dry, medicated water, save a chic, scrambled egg and grogel. Each weak chick is in its own little cup with paper towels in a bowl shape so it's legs can dangle under it and it can reach out to eat and drink but only the one is eating and drinking, I can't make the other one... I'm just throwing everything at them I can think of. Any help for saving these chicks and eggs is much appreciated!

If it has the fan you want 99.5 for temp no fan 101-102F and at least 65% humidity. If you are going to be opening the bator during hatch 70-75% is better. Don't worry about trying to get them to eat. They will eat when they are ready. It might be 24-48 hours before they are even interested in food. The weaker chicks you can try to get the water in them via a dropper or dip their beak in a little water on a spoon making sure not to get it in their nose. Just give them plenty of time to rest and pray for the best. Good luck

Ok, it has a fan. So far the temp is holding at 99 and 70% humidity. We have an air conditioned house that stays at 70 degrees and very low humidity. I have yet to take eggs from the broody. She has 7 eggs left and I felt 3 moving. Should I candle them before I put them in so I don't incubate a rotting egg and explode it? Thanks so much!

For the little one with the curled toes, take a look at this: http://www.the-chicken-chick.com/2012/02/spraddle-leg-in-baby-chicks-what-is-it.html

You can correct curled toes usually if you catch them soon enough and spraddle leg. The link has treatment for both of those.

The really weak chick has normal toes so I just did the vet wrap spraddle leg treatment do now her legs are squarely under her then I put her back in her little cup because otherwise she just flops onto her side and struggles.
The more active chick is eating and drinking, it has the curled toes so I made the little sandals and also did the spraddle leg treatment for good measure. It's almost able to stand now. I put it back in its cup also and it seems happier

You can candle. Usually when you pick them up this close to hatch, you can feel almost like a flutter of movement in the egg. But, it won't hurt them to candle and double check before you put them in the bator. Just keep an eye periodically on the temps because you haven't had a chance to run the bator for a day to regulate and make sure the temp is going to stay steady, so you don't want it to creep up on you.

Ok, I think you're headed in the right direction.

Thanks I hope so! I picked them u0 and told hubby I felt 3 for sure moving quite vigorously. We just made an improvised candler that worked quite well. I saw 3 clears, one blood ring and 3 very solid ones. One of the solids had a very obvious break in the fat end. Not visible as a Crack feom the outside but on the candler it is bright white and in the light of the room I can see the broken spot is only a small layer of egg broken from the inside. I gave the mean mama the 4 clears and put the three solids in the bator. It's at 99 with 60% humidity. I hope it stays steady and they pip!!! Thanks everyone!

The awesome candler my hubby made for me. This was just a normal table egg for testing but it did a great job on the broodies eggs!

The two weak chicks are still alive and have perked up dramatically. They both have round full bellies. Still can't walk though. The eggs have not hatched. The one with the little internal cracked part hasn't made any progress, how long does it take them to pip? I'm worried it piped and drowned or she kicked the eggs all around, maybe it killed it? I've never hatched eggs so I'm not sure how long they take.
