I always find my silkie roo sitting on eggs. It this normal? I only have one roo and 5 hens. The hens just seem to lay their eggs and leave them then the roo hops in the nesting box and sits on till I remove them.

I just don't know......this is just me thinking with the computer keyboard......natural capon???? or are you absolutely sure he is a roo??? I read that capons will set; that is why I mentioned it.

Funny - just just posted about this on another thread. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one with a broody roo! Mine's not a silky, though. Actually, I have no idea what he is - he's just a black roo. I doubt he's purebred anything. Maybe mostly Langsham? Who knows, but he will really pitch a fit if you try to take his eggs!

Pic of weird roo sulking because I robbed him of his eggs...
