Broody sat on too many eggs?????

What is a reasonable clutch for a standard size hen to sit on?
One of my hens has gone broody as i didnt do my evening collection yesterday but i cant help noticing there are a couple of eggs poking out from under her where she has feathered herself out, if i didnt collect yesterday that box is a "hotspot" favourite so i would assume there is at least twenty. Should i reduce the number now before the incubation gets further along?
I know its early days but shes gone completely feral so i think shes serious.

Yes, I would decrease the eggs to around 10 or 12.
