This is Reece, the Momma of the previous picture with feather ankles.

These are the 3 black EE/OE hatchlings that are right about 8 1/2 weeks old now. Details of note:
- they all have green metallic shiny sections on many feathers over entire body
- the 3rd one has the puffy cheek fluffy stuff while the 1st do not.
- their toes are very bright, almost white

What kinda combs those EOE's have? If those are pea pretty sure the first is male, maybe #3 but the comb is hard to make out. Flappy Solo that's their name now is definitely a male.

Edited because names are important, y'all
Edited because APPARENTLY I CAN'T READ NOW

Flappy was the Momma (an all black silkie who “does NOT like being held” & will flap like hummingbird on takeoff when someone tries to grab and lift her up) who hatched/raised this yellow solo chick. And as the EE & OE egg producers of these hatchlings all have the same style combs. I’m not sold on any of them being either Male or Female just yet.

in our 1st go-round we had 2 that were such the roll reversal while raising them from just days old from the feed mill/TSC some 2 years and 3 months ago now. The little tyke was a speckled gray bump for a tail girl that took her teen trying to mount many of the pullets during the first year plus while “Nickie” the other polish sat back and was a perennial roost squatter and rarely interacted with anyone….

so. Yeah… :pop

OH, I didn't realize Flappy was an adult. But...holy heck...must be your camera/lighting, but I swear I see male saddle feathers.

I need to pay better attention. I see what you're saying now. This is what I get for posting so late when I'm half asleep and then trying to respond while I'm in the middle of something LOL.

Now here are the 5 for 5 - meanwhile the 1st gen Momma was already getting her broody on again up that ramp….(smirks)

Again, not the best shots for sexing them but, good imagery for growth updates.
