i kept having to move her off a nest when collecting eggs every day so I finally gave up & put 4 eggs from the flock under her. She’s since laid a 5th but now she seems done.

Every morning I forceably pick her up off the nest and put her outside to eat/drink. She’s back inside sitting w/in 10-15 minutes. Is this a bad idea? I’ve never seen her come out on her own.

I either pick mine up and put them out for a few minutes a day, or put feed and water within a few feet of them. (The second option only after isolation so that the greedy others don't come in to trample the nest and get food.) It doesn't seem to affect my hatch rate.

They'll feed themselves without your interference, of course, but their body condition will stay better if you make sure they're fed.

My silkie goes Broody every few months . Each morning I put her outside off her “ nest”for the morning she happily clucks and walks away and eats. As soon as the door opens again she’s back in. She seems to need a few days 3-4 to do this then she bounces back. I used to bath her butt in icy water, but why bother? She just has hormones
