Broody Silkie

I bought 2 silkie hens a few months ago. One, a grey silkie (we named Daphne) is 2/3s the size of the other and very skinny. The guy that sold her to me said she had been broody...she was fine, laying eggs, eating, drinking normally for about 30 days...then went broody again. not sitting on an egg, just sitting in the box all day. i let the chickens out when i leave for work and don't get home until 4. because i live in the rainiest part of England i have their pen covered in a tarp so they don't get soaked...if i kick her out of the nest she just sits there all day...by 4pm it's now dark. i read about ways to stop the broodiness...but being so cold here this time of year I can't dip her in water, the wire doesn't work...nothing seems to work and I'm afraid she is just going to starve herself to death. Now Rita, the gold silkie is also going broody and has spent 2 days in her nest box. I can't lock them outside all day in our horrible English weather. help! please!
