Broody Silkies

my two silkie girls/hens are sitting on eggs for the first and second times most days I go in and both have soiled themselves does this mean there's a problem with them or are they just so devoted can someone help me

Do you have their feed and water far enough away from the nests that they have to leave to eat and drink ?

Broodies do not usually poop on their nests as it can be very bad for the developing eggs. If food and water are far enough away that they have to leave the nest to get to them, and they are getting up off the nests once per day, they should not poop there. Are they getting up once a day? Some broodies do not get up for two to three days and that's when accidents can happen. It is best to intervene and move them yourself once a day for a toilet break if they are not doing it.
