My Rouon started laying last Saturday. She has laid an egg every day this week.
Question: Will she go broody this summer or wait until next spring?
I want to know so I can save her eggs.
Thank you.

If you wish your hen to go broody you should leave her eggs in the nest or replace them with dummy eggs depending on your weather. This year many people are talking of temperatures that exceed 100 in which case the eggs should be collected and replaced with dummy eggs until the hen goes broody. She will only go broody if there are "eggs" in her nest. Eggs can not be saved for more than a few weeks and remain viable, after that there is less chance of the eggs hatching with each passing day. So...the hen will likely go broody if she has eggs to brood and hopefully she will hatch more ducklings next spring. Good luck.
