Broody throwing out bad eggs?

I have a broody (my first!) sitting on some duck eggs for me and three times now we have found one of the eggs outside of the coop (cracked usually from the fall, it's on stilts). Is it possible that she's throwing out bad eggs? At least one of them was clearly rotten and stinky...

Yes, it`s very likely, Cozy. What you should be most concerned with is the nest being on stilts. Ducklings will also fall out and get cold. You should relocate the nest to ground level.......Pop

It's not the nest on stilts-- it's the coop-- she's *completely* rejecting them-- walking them across the coop and down a ramp

I witnessed my broody duck doing that once! She actually picked up the egg (I think she had impaled it with her bill, but it happened so fast I can't be sure) and carried it to her swimming tank. She dropped it in and washed off her bill vigorously (yuck!)
