It's spring and my turkey hen is wedged up in the nesting box. I tried putting her on the roost manually at night, blocking the nesting box with a cardboard box, locking the flock out of the coop during the day, and separating her into a separate area. She injured her nose trying to break out of the crate when she was separated from the flock so I put her back. I have heard horror stories about turkeys losing the ability to walk after sitting in a nest for too long so I really want to solve this. She ended up back in the nesting box
sitting on ceramic eggs. So I figured the only cure is some babies. Have no Tom for her so I gave her some chicken eggs to sit on. She has been throwing some of them out of the nest and sitting on others. Wondering if this is the right thing to do and if she will be gullible enough to raise them once they hatch. Still working on getting her a nice Midget White man.
