I have a turkey sitting on chicken eggs that are potentially fertile as we have a rooster. I'm excited as we could have chicks soon. However, once the chicks hatch, do I need to separate them from the other chickens or will they integrate them as they were naturally hatched?

I'd be more concerned she will break the eggs or step on chicks when they hatch. I've had chickens hatch turkey eggs, but not turkeys hatch chicken eggs.

I would separate with a fence when they hatch, and let them stay together for a few weeks. A turkey hen will move off farther than a chicken hen, and may leave them behind. They have different mothering skills.
