Can I use an egg that has been washed to put under my broody? Or is that not a good idea?

I've heard on here that you should not wash eggs to be hatched. I've also heard ( not on here) that you shouldn't handle them with your hands, but to wear gloves so as not to spread bacteria. It made sense to me. I'm a newbie when it comes to incubating and just found one of my hens ( the first I've had) broody tonite with eggs, so I'm probably not the best one to give advice.

So you think it would be okay? When my husband says I should put some eggs under her, I don't want to argue
