Broody with chicks - too cute!

Thought you would like to see my broody with her day-old chicks. They are just too cute and what a patient hen. She deserves an award for broody of the year, right?

wicked cute my broody is gonna hatch her eggs in a week or so and i've been watching chicken videos with chicks online and i cant wait. have you shown them to your other chickens or not???

Since we will enter her and the chicks in our county fair, we have moved the family into their own accommodations for the next few days. The fair starts August 3rd and we are sure they will be a big hit in the poultry barn. The are in a rabbit cage in our garage for the time being.

This hen hatched a brood last Thanksgiving. All the chicks survived and we were amazed since we were sure they wouldn't make it through a Minnesota December. She is a great mom!
