Just found my buff Orppington under the chicken house laying on 17 eggs! It is dark and the other hens are roosting in the house , but she refuses to come out from under. I removed all of the eggs she was laying on and offered her some cracked corn to lure her into the house, but she will not budge. What should I do? I'm afraid to leave her out, but I'm also afraid to leave the chicken house open.

Sounds like she is broody. BO are notorious for going broody. One of my mom's hatched out chicks underneath the storage shed. Do you not want her to go broody? Also do you have a predator problem? Sounds like she would be pretty safe under the hen house. If you do not want her to brood you are going to have to go under there and get her. Also put her in an all wire cage with fresh water and hen scratch. This will break her of being broody.
