Broody...

We've got our first broody I think...she has been gathering eggs together , 4 or 5 at a time before we get out there after work...sits on them all and we literally have to pick her up OFF the eggs and move her so we can collect the eggs....is there anything I need to really watch for during this or do for her???

Do you want her to be broody, to sit on fertile eggs and hatch chicks?

Or would you rather she stopped being broody?

Sorry..i'm so new to this...we would really rather she stop! LOL...we had another one that started but she quit the next day...this one on the other hand...has been going for 5 days or so.

It's really tough to break a broody, especially if you aren't around during the day. You might need to spend some time at it over the weekend.

Good luck, and try to make sure that she is eating, drinking, and pooping. Some broody hens are so silly, they won't even come off the nest long enough to do the necessities!
