broody's left nest ...10/30 last egg just hatched!

Yeah, whats happening now?!!?

We just came home to find a hatched chick. She looks good almost dry (hatched sometime in the last 1.5 hours. She is ADORABLE. No goo or anything attached.

She started pipping last night and I could see this morning that the membrane had a decent color to it....not pure white like the others and the hatch we had in the spring. I knew that I had to leave it alone and all day she was slowly making progress and NOW SHE"S HERE!!!


I can't believe it. We're holding out hope that she'll do well. We still have 2 more eggs that should start showing some pips or movement in the next 24 hours.

We just got home after setting up at church for our Carnival and realized that the next egg has a large healthy pip in it. Chicken Josie is doing well and we are all thrilled.

Today has been a really great day!
