Leghorns and Leghorn-adjacent breeds are difficult because the girls' combs are so large and they mature so quickly. My California Whites would have been scaring me if I didn't know that they were sexlinked crosses. :D

At this age I'd expect to see male saddle feathers if they're boys -- especially with the combs so red.

I am terrible at saddle feathers. I can see some in pictures but I am no good at mine.

1st picture all together
2nd and 3rd are margarine the boy
4th is smaller and mable the girl

I know they are not great photos. Mostly wing. I will try later when they are not eating

So leghorn female are alwas really red?
I am thinking based on what I am seeing for feathers and their comb size they are pullets. I would think (just thinking here) that the males would have much bigger combs at this age and some saddle feathers. My leghorn was red very early and her comb is massive now. There are some more experts out there that might be able to help. Overo Mare has already been tagged.....let's see @Tookie @SilverBirds @JedJackson
