Brower and external thermostat

I know those threads are old, just wondering if anyone is still using Brower top hatch incubators? I read some of the threads about plugging it in to a thermostat (usually the reptitemp 500r). Does that interfere with the turner? I wondered if by plugging it into a thermostat when the thermostat kicks off doesn't it stop turning as well? Thanks in advance for any feedback!
