Brower Top Hatch or Hova-Bator Genesis?

:lol:Thanks Everyone!

I'm still having a heck of a time deciding.

I'm not going to do mixed batches (just have chicken eggs), and I will only be putting in one hatching at a time. Well, at least that is the plan for now!

I'm trying to narrow down what breed I want to stick with, and then breed to primarily increase my own flock (I free range 100% and always loose a few, but figure the trade off to the overall health of the flock and ease of care for me is worth a loss or two), and then have a few pullets to sell at the local farmer's market. Not sure what to do with the inevetable roosters.

The Genesis really does sound great. How does it hold up to room temp fluctuations? Once summer kicks in the A/C will be on and the room temp will be fairly steady. During winter (I'm in C. Texas, mild), spring and fall I try not to use artificial heat or cooling, so the house temp does fluctuate some. I have a digital thermometer inside right now and I'm going to monitor temp fluctuations in different rooms.

Anyway... I'm rambling! Thank you so much for all the feedback. I'm so happy to have found this site. My husband has been rolling his eyes at my chicken infatuation. My kids (4 of them) share my passion to some extent, but even they are getting tired of my grand chicken plans!!

Take care,
