brown bread?

everyday i give my chickens cabbage, pellets, carrot, apple and other scraps, and brown bread.they absulutly adore it and then one day someone posted that they cant have it :/, dunno what to do so yeah,,,help!

here's a whole thread discussing feeding bread. I think you just want to keep it as a treat so they don't fill up on bread instead of nutrition.

Whole wheat bread is great. White bread is just a treat.

You can give wheat as a part of the diet, but it shouldn't be the whole diet. I feed wheat every day:

Yes flocks can get very sick when fed large amounts of white bread (not whole wheat) or white rice.

If you are feeding whole wheat bread then it is just like feeding wheat berries.

I read somewhere that bread can give chickens sour crop but i doubt wholemeal bread is harmful

I agree. It just boils down to common sense and moderation. My chickens get a bit of whole grain bread as a treat every evening and this has been going on for years with no adverse effects.
