Hi all, looking for advice. I've read through everything I can find and I just come up with a lot of "maybes". I have a Brown Buckeye hen who is going on approximately 14 weeks. She started out great - the biggest of all the chicks, active, etc. About a month ago she started going downhill. She keeps sitting on her hocks, walks a little and sits down, sits down to eat. The feathers on her head/neck and wings haven't feathered out all the way - she has little downy feathers sticking out of adult feathers. Her excrement is a combination of either clear or whitish very watery urea with fairly formed black poop. She is eating feed, scratch, etc, but not as much as the others as she is sitting a lot. She gets up on the roost at night with the others and walks around the yard somewhat. None of the others are affected.
I've put her through a round of coccidiosis treatment, probiotic treatment, rubbed Vitamin D on her legs, etc. I have not seen any signs of worms being expelled, breathing seems fine, color may be a little pale but nothing really noticeable. She was supposedly vaccinated for Mareks. We live on sandy ground, the pen is sand with grasses and clover growing. She gets 16% protein feed (layers mixed with the rest of the starter), combination of scratch/"garden delight" scratch, and hay at times ("Flock Fresh). She isn't going downhill quickly, but she definitely isn't thriving and I'm at my wits end as to what else to do. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
