Well, I spent the day at the beagle club training dogs, filling rabbit feeders, and checking fence. The temps are in the 70's and the hungry little ticks have awakened. My dogs were sprayed so they did fine. I picked 56 off of my clothing!
Not to worry, they don't transmit Lyme disease--only things like babesiosis, erlichiosis, and Rocky Mt spotted fever.
On a happier note the Baltimore orioles have returned from winter vacation and are starting to build a nest in the sycamore tree in front of the clubhouse. The phoebes have not returned yet, but I have prepared their nest site so everything is ready for their arrival. My clothes are out on the deck, and I am off to the shower to see if anything is dining on my body.
