Brown egg or white egg?

I was cleaning eggs today, we've had lots of rain so the eggs are muddy, and found this brown egg. Or is it a white egg? I've heard of sometimes getting an egg with a heavy bloom, is this that? Do I need to try to figure out who layed it and do something?

Looks like a paintbrush was used!!

My guess is that it is just bloom. When laid and the bloom is still wet, I guess some of the bloom was rubbed off by feathers or nesting material to reveal the brown egg.

Cool, thanks! The brush marks I made when washing it. I still didn't notice the two colors until it was dry.
