Brown egg/ White Egg

This is gonna be a question for the looney bin.

If I were to set a brown egg...Would it produce a brown egg layer??? Or does that matter?

Depends on who the daddy was. If he carried the blue egg gene, like an true Ameraucana, your layers could lay blue or maybe greenish eggs.
