Brown leghorn or ANCONA

Me and my wife are thinking on getting some chicks next spring and thinking on one of these two breeds .

Brown leghorn and Ancona

Any info would be helpful.

well both are good layers, both are rather flighty by nature. personally I think the anconas are prettier.

Both breeds are good layers, like others have said. The only thing I would add is it may be easier to get Good brown leghorns than to find anconas that would be Up To Standard...JMO...I have both

We will be geting the chicks for eggs and we will not show the chickens.

I have had both breeds and would choose the Brown Leghorns over the Anconas any time. JMO!

I have Anconas from Sandhill Preservation. I think they're very pretty, and are supposed to be early, good layers. Mine are 19 weeks, hopefully any time now.
